We do not write the articles posted on Spanish Watchdog / CrimeSpain.com. We only collect and repost stories which have already been published by local Spanish media in Spanish language somewhere in Spain.
To clarify this; The only thing we do is to translate local Spanish articles to English and we always link our post back to its original source. Just click on the picture on top of each article, that will take you straight to the original Spanish news media website. So no discussion if its true or not, what you see is 100% TRUE!
With that said; what you read on CrimeSpain.com is nothing compared to the actual amount of crimes happening in Spain every day. Remember local media or police can only publish what has been uncovered. Lot's of crimes has gone unpunished ever since Christopher Columbus left Spain and "discovered" gold in Latin American.
Spanish Watchdog / CrimeSpain.com is reading all Spanish media and over 50 Spanish articles daily about fraud, murder, corruption and rapes or sexual misuse of minors plus a lot of other illegal activities in Spain. Of these 50+ stories we choose, translate and re-post only 2-3 stories per day. So a very small fraction of all the crimes happening every day in Spain, but enough to give you a detailed picture of the current situation in Spain. If you feel we have missed an important crime story please send an email to spanishwatchdog@protonmail.com with a link to the article.

Stop corruption and start FIXING the problems!
This website is dedicated to www.FranciscoPeregrina.com - his dishonest activities called on a bigger sociological investigation, understanding and mapping of the Spanish crimes and rampant corruption. It must constitute a mental illness always to take or use what's not yours. However not all Spanish people are the same! There are some wonderful people in Spain who are ashamed of their fellow citizens.
Many foreigners has arrived to Spain with a dream and ended up with a nightmare and lost a fortune. Why? because they trusted this people the same way they trusted their own people, because that's how they grow up! If you Dear reader is not from Europe, please do not make the mistake thinking that Spain is like Northern Europe. They have absolutely nothing in common, and that's the general problem with the European Union. The South constantly begging for more EU funds from the rich North. Let's be honest here, the North is tired of this situation repeating itself year after year!
Let's take a deeper look behind the World Transparency Index. What could be reason Denmark has the least corruption in the entire world six years in a row and Spain is constantly falling deeper and now on level with Botswana in Africa. Danish people and Spanish people have absolutely nothing in common! This is clearly reflected in the Corruption index, the Happiness index and the Press Freedom index! The mentality is profoundly different in every aspect of life in these two EU countries; the food is different, the weather is different, work ethics and contractual obligations are different. The North is helping each other and the South is taking advantage of each other. This is the fastest way to explain why many foreigners lose their money in Spain. So where does the fundamental difference lay? TRUST(click to learn) towards each other and the government system is what makes Scandinavia so different from Spain. Denmark and Spain do not share any common values except Danish people likes to retire in Spain due to the weather and both countries are members of the European Union, but again Denmark is a positive net CASH contributor and Spain has been a negative burden for the other member countries since they entered (link to official statistics).
So that's what it all comes down to in the end; simple trust and honesty among people. That makes a nation happy and less corrupt. Again another reason why Finland and Denmark are No. 1 and 2 on the World Happiness index 2024. Spain don't even rank in Top 20, but all the way down on position No. 36 despite having access to FREE sunshine, easy EU funds and 60 million tourists a year just coming to spend their hard currency! How to fuck up such opportunities? Easy; with corruption and dishonest behaviour!
What is really alarming is Spain's position on the WORLD PRESS FREEDOM INDEX 2024 - This year they landed on Position No. 30 - 6 places up from last year, but far far away from Scandinavia which holds the Top 3, Norway No. 1, Denmark No. 2 and Sweden No. 3. Even Spain's neighbours are ranked much better; FRANCE No. 21 and PORTUGAL all the way up on No. 7, just below Scandinavia and the Netherlands. So maybe now you can understand why there is almost no relationship or common interest in Spain from the Portuguese side. The mentality between these two neighbours is completely different. This index shows the real situation in any country and the honest relationship between government and its people. So it is NOT looking too bright in Spain...! Unfortunately when you grow up in a corrupt country and the only thing you see is corruption, many choose to become part of the system to survive, and those few honest people who didn't are left with limited opportunities and badly paid jobs.
"Political polarisation is reflected in the media, which dangerously blurs the line between news and opinion, contributing to a climate of distrust in journalism. Press freedom is also threatened by a new wave of attacks against reporters during anti-government protests." end of quote about Spain on:
Where would Spain have been today if not a million+ rich foreigners had invested Billions+++ of Euros in holiday and retirement homes in Spain over the past 30 years? Last year alone it was 6 billion euro foreigners brought into Spain. What important infrastructure was made in Spain the last 20 years without economic support from the EU and the same goes for most Spanish companies receiving structural development funds from the European Union. These EU structural funds, logos are to be found everywhere in Spain, along major highways to the smallest business websites. You do not see those logos in Scandinavia. What would Spain have done if they didn't have FREE sunshine to sell to you? IMAGINE THIS, at one time Spain even taxed the free sunshine if anyone put solar panels on their roof -:) That's why you see so few solar panels in this part of Europe despite having over 300 sunny days per year! Hilarious or plain stupidity. You decide...
WE HOPE this gave you something to think about before your next trip to Spain..., WE WANT you to enjoy Spain and go as often as you can. Spain is a wonderful country!
